Hemroids, depending on their nature, can be either a massive inconvenience or a genuinely painful condition to have to live with. If one is aware enough of what to look out for however, they can be caught at a much earlier stage and dealt with before they pose any of the more obvious and anxiety-provoking issues that many people associate with hemorrhoids.

An obvious symptom of (internal) hemroids is blood loss when defecating. To some people, this is a regular enough occurrence with hemorrhoids to not warrant seeking medical expertise. A problem with ignoring them at this stage is that they can develop into an issue that is far harder to treat (and more painful). Never wait for pain to get worse before acting! If you have doubts, see a doctor!

Thrombosis is the clotting of blood. This can result in external thrombosed hemroids if left unchecked. As soon as soreness is detected (sign of a blood clot), see your doctor.
The soreness is usually a sure-sign that blood clotting has occurred, as the former stages of the hemorrhoid’s development are usually quite painless. Any itching, soreness, bruised tissue and/or irregularity of bowel movement is a potential thrombosed hemorrhoid.

Thrombosed hemroids can be remedied in a number of ways:

- Hemorrhoidectomy (the removel of hemorrhoids via surgery) is very much considered a ‘last resort’ in the treatment of hemorrhoids.

- Via the injection of a chemical into the hemorrhoid, causing it to decrease in size. This is known as Sclerotherapy.

- The placing of a tight (surgically applied) rubber band around the hemorrhoid, thus cutting off/diminishing its blood supply (and gradually causing it to shrink). This is known as Rubber Band Litigation.

- Applying an extremely cold probe to the hemorrhoid, in order to slow the blood flow and/or freeze it (Cryotherapy).

- The burning off of the hemorrhoids via a source of electrical current. This is known as Infrared Coagulation.

However, these above treatments are not necessary if a healthy diet is maintained and hemorrhoids are avoided. Not eating enough fibre is a leading cause of hemroids. Increasing fibre in key areas can therefore help your situation. Try to eat:

Fruit

- Apples

- Bananas

- Raisins

- Berries

- Zuccini

- Lemons

- Kiwi Fruit

Vegetables

- Peppers

- Black-Eyed Peas

- Lima Beans

- Carrots

- Avocado

On top of a healthy diet including the fruit/veg’ listed above, exercise is also crucial. Although not always what we want to be doing, exercise keeps blood flowing and the body in good shape.

If you’re not a ‘fan’ of exercise, try incorporating exercise into something that you do enjoy, or operating a ‘treat’ system, whereby exercise is rewarded with something that you do enjoy. Either way, it is crucial or an absolute must for preventing thrombosed hemorrhoids. Exercise will also prevent the protracted sedentary nature that can lead to hemorrhoids by breaking up the time spent not moving: Office works and people in driving jobs in particular should take heed here – exercise is a preventative.

The cause behind ones hemroids is often the key to understanding the treatment. Hemorrhoids can occur via a number of situations, a few of which we will outline below. The knowledge of what causes hemroids has come to be is often a comforting piece of knowledge in itself, as one can know, for in future, how they may be prevented.

Generally speaking, hemorrhoids can be traced back to tension or strain in the rectal cavity. If this strain can be prevented or avoided, then so can hemroids.

The first point to be outlined is an extension of that mentioned above: avoid rectal strain. This can be caused through a number of sources, and especially during bowel movements. If a stool does not feel as if it will leave the bowel, then leave it for a few minutes (along with undertaking some kind of physical movement) and try again. Straining on the toilet can cause the rupture of blood vessels due to the extra pressure from muscles, which result in hemroids. It can also cause the emergence of said hemorrhoids, as tissue can extrude from the anal passage after particularly strenuous straining activity.

Pregnant women can experience hemroids both during the pregnancy and during birth. The general pregnancy-related hemorrhoids are usually correlated with the third trimester of the pregnancy. During this stage, the baby’s weight will be exerting significant pressure onto the Mother’s lower-body areas, especially the pelvis. This, naturally, means that the muscles in this region are strained, resulting in hemorrhoids. The birth-related hemroids tend to occur due to the physical muscular exertion required when a woman pushes out a baby. These cannot be avoided, but are a cause all the same.

What causes hemorrhoids in pregnant women also manifests in people with a background in weight-lifting. The strain exacted upon the intestinal wall via the muscles in the region. Weight lifting makes the weight lifter strain due to the extremely heavy load that they’re bearing, which in turn can cause hemorrhoids. Likewise, sitting for very long periods of time can cause hemorrhoids due to the entire weight of the body being placed onto the buttocks. This can occur if one is an office worker or sat down driving for long periods. Take regular breaks (a walk around the office every hour, for example) in order to minimise the chances of these problems.

Constipation can be a source of hemroids, as the hardened nature of stools produced during constipation can have an irritant effect on the lining of the bowel. However, this isn’t best solved by self-administering laxatives, as diarrhoea itself can cause hemorrhoids. This is because the increase in the frequency of toilet trips means that the rectal/anal muscles become over-used and develop hemorrhoids through being ‘worn out’ and strained.

Knowing what causes hemroids is half the battle. In general, a relief in tension combined with a good knowledge of which situations are likely to irritate the bowels will ensure that, in the long run, one can become hemorrhoid-free.

Hemroids themselves are a shock to most of us, but we usually learn to live with them (albeit begrudgingly) due to their quite everyday signs of existence (itchiness and irritation). However, extra undue panic is often created through the quite explicit symptoms that come with the minority of these pests: blood. Bleeding hemroids can conjure all sorts of terrible thoughts, but usually there’s actually nothing to worry about. Hemorrhoids bleeding are just a sign of their physical location, not their severity.

Hemroids are common, annoying and here to stay. In fact, most of the time we simply ‘deal’ with them via the application of a cream, and continue with our everyday lives. The hemorrhoids that we usually encounter are external hemroids. These seldom bleed but are just a general nuisance. Internal hemroids are most often the culprits with regards to bleeding. They are no worse medically, but due to their location (the intestinal wall) they possess a greater number of blood vessels than external hemorrhoids. This, combined with the thin nature of the intestinal wall means that they’re liable to bleed with the smallest of irritations.

Bleeding hemroids often don’t hurt, as the intestine has fewer nerves than other parts of the body. If one discovers blood in the toilet bowl after defecating, there’s a good chance that this is due to hemorrhoids. In saying this, one should never blindly assume: A bleeding anus could be symptomatic of a number of ailments, so a doctor’s opinion should always be sought, should there be any concern or doubt. In the likely event that this is due to hemroids, the worry should be over. Pesky? Yes. Serious? No.

Dealing with bleeding hemroids can be a multi-angle approach. Firstly, increasing fibre intake means that our digestive system is moving in a more regular manner. This means that bowel movements are softer and therefore act as less of an irritant to the intestinal wall (where internal hemorrhoids reside). An increase in water intake should also accompany this fibre-boost, as the fibre requires more water to remain soft.

Cutting down on caffeine is another must, as caffeine’s diuretic nature means that it will dehydrate the body (and therefore the intestine) – doing hemorrhoids no good at all. Either way, when treating internal hemorrhoids, one should never apply creams or ointments intended for external use.

Toilet trips should be a productive affair; if bowel movement doesn’t occur after five minutes, one should pause the attempt and take a brisk walk. Attempt again when you feel more comfortable. Never try to force defecation, as the unnatural straining can cause further hemorrhoid bleeding.
Likewise, if underwear is too tight problems may arise. Wear loosely-fitted, baggy underwear and clothing so that no unnecessary external influence is acting on the bowels. As a general point, you should be extra-diligent with regards to any suspiciously ‘miraculous’ assertions regarding hemorrhoids – all medication should be medically prescribed and understood by you, the patient. Good health, medical advice and a caring approach will see that hemroids are eliminated in no time.

During pregnancy, it is a common occurrence to suffer from hemroids. It happens to most women and usually is not much of a bother. In some cases though, it is possible for it to be very painful and quick knowledge of how to relieve this horrid pain is sought. As a rule, the pain does go away after childbirth and it is just a temporary uncomfortable problem while you are pregnant. Luckily, there are methods to use for pain relief of hemroids during pregnancy.

Hemroids during pregnancy are only varicose veins that just happen in the rectum and range from being so mild that you do not even feel them, to really painful. The most problematic symptoms are the itching and burning that occur and are awkward to handle. If you have had problems with hemroids before you were pregnant, then there are definite chances of them occurring now. More than likely, they will disperse quickly once your child is born and your body returns to normal.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy are due to the pressure of the uterus on the vein that returns the flow of blood to the heart from the lower half of your body. This pressing on the vein causes varicose veins in the lower half of the body, varicose meaning simply – swollen. Many women have them showing in their legs during pregnancy as well as being in their rectum. Constipation is another cause of hemroids, and most women do suffer with constipation while pregnant. This is another reason for wanting to know about pain relief during pregnancy with hemroids.

An option for relief of the pain from hemorrhoids during pregnancy is making use of an icepack. Understandably, the ice numbs the area and in so doing reduces the irritation from the hemorrhoids. A further suggestion is having a hot bath for relief. There is further recommendation that you alternate between using the icepack and having the hot bath. There are several creams available for rubbing on the area for numbing the pain that you can buy over the counter from the pharmacy, but do have a chat to your doctor first, to ensure that the one that you want to use is an advisable one during this important time.

Another suggestion for pain relief during pregnancy with hemroids is to rub vitamin E on the area. These is accomplished by taking a regular vitamin E capsule and with a pin, poke a small hole into it, you are then able to hold it against your rectum and squeeze out the contents of the capsule. The next step is simply to spread the capsule contents over the whole area. The recommendation for this procedure is to do it twice a day. A further piece of advice is to do this after you have had a shower. This ensures that you are working on a clean area and not rubbing in any dust or dirt particles, and the relief you feel should last for quite a while.

Hemroids (hemorrhoids) are a fairly common problem even if it is a subject not often discussed. Hemroids – a.k.a. piles – are swellings occurring in the anus and back passage (technically, the lower rectum).

A hemroid is formed when a blood vessel in the anus becomes engorged. Occurring internally and externally hemroid can be irritating and painful. There is no real specific cause of hemroids; it might be constipation, pregnancy, poor diet, age or genetic. Whilst some would advocate a change of diet and increased exercise, there are preparatory ointments available and the last resort is surgery.

Before you have a medical procedure to sort out your problems you need to consider all the factors. As with any surgery there are pros and cons and you should consult with your GP/MD before opting for this solution.

There are risks involved with hemroid surgery, such as

Anal bleeding

Haematoma in the area where surgery performed

Inability to control bowel or bladder

Infection of the area

There may be problems soon after hemroid surgery that include

Stenosis of the anal canal

Return of the Hemorrhoids

Formation of an abnormal passage between the anal or rectal canal and another area

Rectal prolapse – the slipping out of the anal canal of the rectal lining

It is also important to know that even in the event of successful surgery it will not signal an immediate end to the problems you’ve been suffering

Some notable points with hemroid surgery recovery are these

Having acute pain.(Do make sure to get a prescription for painkillers and anti-biotics before you leave the hospitable from the doctor who attended to you)

Use numbing medication before and after your bowel movements as bleeding will be likely, especially the first time

Ice Packs help reduce swelling and pain

Make use of a sitz bath, instead of a regular bath

Taking stool softeners is a good idea so that there is no strain during your bowel movements

The choice for you to make, is whether you should take a chance on hemorrhoid surgery complications, or else, curing the hemroids safely, with relative pain and the embarrassment of it gone, and so being able to enjoy life without any complications attached.

Before you have hemroid surgery think about the alternatives. There is one treatment proven as effective within a 48-hour period, and known to have helped numerous sufferers eliminate the pain and other side effects from this problematic condition of hemorrhoids.

This called H Miracle – a natural cure used instead of surgery. With the new method, use is made of a stapler, by lifting the Hemorrhoid and stapling it back in place in the anal canal. This method has a quicker recovery time than the usual Hemorrhoid recovery period that takes about two to three weeks.

Look at the costs of hemroids treatment. A basic operation, laser hemroid surgery or any other forms of surgery can cost somewhere from $5000 to $12000. Give this plenty of thought before finally deciding, as thisa large amount of money to lay out for you for a problem that stands the chance of returning.

The alternative method of the H Miracle natural cure is less cost than a family outing for dinner. Should you find that after you have tried the H Miracle way that this is not the answer for you, then, consider having hemorrhoid surgery.

Most people will shy away from speaking about hemroids, however they are a lot more widespread in western society than one may think. Thanks to a rich diet with little fibre or regular exercise, a lot of people will have to deal with hemorrhoids at some point in their lives. This is more true for women whom go through pregnancy and child birth. It is however not as taboo as most people think, with TV shows like “the Royle family” enjoying a joke over a main characters hemorrhoids, calling them “Jeremy Kyles” in reference to the Northern England name for hemorrhoids, calling them “piles”. It is regarded as run of the mill as catching a cold or spraining your ankle.

So what are hemroids specifically? They are veins around the anus that are restricted in their circulation of blood. The veins will fill with blood and bulge, a little like a water balloon being filled by the kitchen tap. This bulge of blood has no means (or a very restricted means) of dissipating, so the area becomes inflamed and swollen. This often causes the initial discomfort of hemorrhoids and again factors in whilst voiding oneself and cleaning oneself up.

These external hemroids are the ones that cause bleeding usually whist cleaning one’s person in that area. The swollen vein is liable to burst. It is also external hemorrhoids that cause the itching and burning sensations when walking around, standing up, or sitting uncomfortably. The bulges are often liable to becoming chapped and (if left unchecked) infected which goes towards causing the itching and burning sensations.

What are hemroids that are internal hemroids? These are similar to external hemroids inside the body however these may have prolapsed, leaving them to protrude outside of the anus. A prolapsed is another word for a more extended (stretchy and big) bulge. As well as pregnancy and poor diet and exercise, internal hemorrhoids can also be caused innocently by diarrhea, constipation (and the straining due to it) and some people are simply biologically predisposed to is at they grow older. This means that they must be more careful as they are more likely to have hemorrhoids.

What are hemroids symptoms? They are burning, itching and pain around the anus, which gets worse when passing stool. You may also see spots of blood on your tissue as you clean yourself. This is normally a sign of the veins bursting and releasing blood; this is known as bleeding hemorrhoids. If this happens on a few occasions it is better to consult a doctor to rule out any more serious conditions and also for a consultation on treating your hemorrhoids.

To avoid reading any more “What are hemroids” articles, it is best to have a good diet full of fibre, take regular exercise and keep your weight to a moderate degree. Do not sit on the toilet too long, or strain much if at all whilst passing stool. If you have constipation or diarrhea then take an over the counter remedy instead of just “working it through”. For minor symptoms simply do the above, eat more fibre and drink more fluids and maybe try a non-prescription remedy. With the right action done quickly, the hemorrhoids will be gone within the week. If they do not, then consult your doctor.

There are numerous procedures a doctor may try in order to treat your hemroids. These include rubber band ligation, injection sclerotherapy, and infrared coagulation. All are a simple procedure that will normally rid you of your hemorrhoids, and assuming you resume your healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise, there is no reason for them to return.

Hemroids are veins around the anus which are constricted and not able to remove the blood inside. It swells up and becomes inflamed and often painful. Hemorrhoids are often known in England as “piles”. There are often times when a person will not know they have hemroids until blood appears on their toilet tissue whilst cleaning up, or within the stool itself. This can be very distressing, as it is a well-known fact that colon cancer causes blood in the stool. Upon discovering blood on your tissue or in your stool, you should head off to see your doctor as you will most likely that you have internal hemroids.

Internal hemroids happen when the veins inside the anus become inflamed due to an increased amount of pressure. If this pressure persists then the veins may burst and bleed. The difference between external hemroids is that internal hemroids are not as painful, and sometimes are hardly felt by a person. Internal hemroids treatment is often applied when the situation becomes either painful, or if there is enough blood to cause distress to the sufferer. They are usually an indicator of a factor in the sufferers’ life that they should change. Normally this is poor diet and little exercise, however it can be signs of other conditions such as hypotension and a lack of vital vitamins and minerals; known as being deficient.

There are plenty of pain receptors around the anus, however further into the rectum and colon there are far far fewer pain receptors. This is the reason that pain is not often a symptom of internal hemorrhoids. Normally, internal hemroids treatment happens when the hemorrhoids are agitated.

Internal hemroids are known as “Strangulated” and “Prolapsed”. Internal hemorrhoids which are prolapsed will protrude through the anus, normally whilst passing stool. In most cases it will disappear back up inside, although on occasion the sufferer may have to deal with pushing it back inside themselves, usually in a great deal of pain. A strangulated hemorrhoid(s) is the same as a prolapsed one, except for that it has not been pushed back inside in a swift fashion. As a result it becomes trapped whilst protruding out of the anus and can cut off the blood supply. In extreme cases, older gentlemen have referred to this as “hanging grapes” syndrome.

If a hemroids has become strangulated, it may form a clot. This is known as thrombosed hemorrhoid. In these cases the internal hemroids treatment tends to be surgery. Whereas, if the hemorrhoids has simply prolapsed, it may be eased to a large extent and (even self-healed), by a change in diet. Eating more fruit and soft foods, drinking more water as well as moderate exercise will all help the body heal itself. It is often worth trying multiple internal hemorrhoids treatments before resorting to surgery as it has been known to be very painful. Consult your doctor for a structured internal hemroids treatment plan and stick to it, as prevention may be better than cure in this case.

Hemroids are small veins around the anus that swell with blood. This blood cannot drain away properly or at all. This causes the vein to become inflamed, making it swell up. This is what a hemorrhoid is. External hemroids are on the outside and cause the most pain when cleaning oneself around that area. Internal hemroids are on the inside and are more liable to pop and cause pain/discomfort whilst passing stool.

Internal hemroids are in most cases pain free and often go untreated for a long time. Sometimes they heal up. On the occasions where they are treated, it is usually because they are causing discomfort or pain. Blood on the toilet paper when there are no breaks in the skin outside the anus are internal hemorrhoids symptoms. This is where the hemorrhoids are internal and bleed due to a hard stool. In these cases the internal hemroids symptoms may also be blood in the stool. These are the cases where internal hemorrhoids will cause discomfort and sometime cause distress as most people are aware that blood in the stool is a sign of colon cancer.

Excessive straining and sitting on the toilet for a long time (usually two things that constipation suffers go through) may even cause an internal hemorrhoid to become prolapsed. This may then protrude outside of the anus.

External hemroids are the more commonly treated hemroids, and often cause the most discomfort. These tend to hurt, which can also lead to itchy sensations. This may then turn to burning sensations if the hemorrhoids are allowed to become infected or chapped. If external hemorrhoids burst, it may lead onto thrombus. This is the Greek word for a blood clot, specifically the final result of blood thickening and coagulating in and around the wound. This leads to a higher risk of infection (remember what area we are around) which may cause more pain and bloating.

Women will tend to experience their hemroids symptoms during pregnancy and shortly after child birth. Men are also at risk if they have a poor diet, as a man’s fat tends to be stored around the belly, putting extra pressure on the veins and arteries around the abdomen. The harder it is for blood to circulate, then the more chance there will be a pool of blood within the veins around the anus.

Though there are many treatments for hemorrhoids, the best cure is prevention. With a balanced diet, plenty of fluids, exercise and fibre, there is little to no chance of you ever getting hemroids. Do not sit on the toilet too long, or strain when you have diarrhoea or constipation.

If you notice hemroids symptoms, then consult your doctor. This is especially true if you are finding blood in your stool. A doctor can use a colonoscope to examine the area and check for enlarged veins and other problems. This endoscopic examination will pick out any internal hemroids and your doctor will be able to treat them according to their severity. External hemroids are easily seen, and you will often notice them before your doctor does. It is important to keep them clean, and dry and to avoid chaffing them with uncomfortable sitting positions and particular forms of exercise. If what you are doing hurts… then stop. If you treat hemorrhoid symptoms regularly there should be no need for further treatment by your doctor. If they remain neglected and untreated then they shall more likely become more inflamed, painful and liable to bleed.

There are many techniques for hemroids treatment at home which is sadly due to the fact that hemorrhoids are the scourge of western society, thanks to rich high fat diets with little to no fibre and exercise. They are also a common occurrence for women whom have gone through pregnancy and child birth. There are hemorrhoid treatments tried and tested, based on science and testing and others based on holistic methodologies. Though you are free to try as many forms of hemorrhoid treatment at home as you choose, if bleeding from the anus persists, then you should consult your local doctor to rule out any more serious conditions.

Utilizing a hot Sitz bath is a common known hemroids treatment at home technique. It is also said to help ease uterine cramps, pain from various STI flare-ups and prostate infections, as well as being a treatment for hemroids. It is simply a case of sitting in a hot bath with your legs and buttocks raised out of the water. Do not put any form of chemical or bubble bath in the water unless it is a prescribed or over the counter hemorrhoids treatment as it may irritate the hemorrhoids causing more discomfort.

A hot Sitz bath is a form of hydrotherapy that has shown to be effective in even reducing the size of hemorrhoids. The idea is for the steam and mild heat to encourage the blood to flow around the affected area. Making sure the area is regular but gently cleaned will remove any soreness created by bacteria. Other than the hot Sitz bath and your regular bathing routine, it is a good idea to keep the area as dry as possible to help avoid the area becoming chapped. As methods of hemroids treatment in the home, these preventative measures will help reduce irritation and encourage the healing process.

Having a hot Sitz bath will help to reduce swelling and the discomfort of hemorrhoids. There are long term sufferers whom will squat atop a basin of very hot water, and allow the heat to east their discomfort. This is a good idea if you have just washed, for example in a shower. Squatting over a basin for a good ten minutes, using towels to keep the steam in the affected areas is a good common sense hemroids treatment after cleaning the affected area. For obvious reasons it is better to sit on something low and hang your rear over the edge of it, and place the hot water bowl underneath yourself. Squatting in the air over a hot basin of water for ten minutes is foolish unless you possess very strong leg muscles and a very good sense of balance and concentration.

There are also many commercial products available for purchase, if you are a long term or recurrent sufferer of hemorrhoids. These include plastic seats, micro fibre (breathable) underwear as well as various dressings and cleaning lotions for use after voiding one’s self, which is the point at which most people experience a sharper sensation of discomfort. Any long term sufferers or recurrent suffers whom have tried various hemroid treatments at home should consult a doctor for further advice and further treatment.

Hemroids (hemorrhoids) are caused due to high pressure put on the veins around the anus. In cases where this pressure is constant and the restriction is kept upon the veins, they may begin to swell and bulge. As it bulges it becomes inflamed and painful. A little like blowing up a balloon, except that every time you blow it up and let it down it gets a little less springy.

A person may have both internal and external hemroids. External hemorrhoids tend to be a lot more painful than internal ones, because internal ones are in places where there are far fewer pain receptors. There are many external hemroids treatments that should be tried before resorting to surgery. The best hemroids treatment is a change of diet to a more balanced diet with plenty of fibre, as well as more fluids and regular moderate exercise. Surgery will become necessary as an affective external hemorrhoids treatment if the hemorrhoids become too painful or uncomfortable or if a clot forms.

External hemroids may be treated with rubber band ligation. This was an idea that first came about from the neutering of male sheep. In basic terms they put a small band around the external hemorrhoid. The blood flow stops completely and the hemroid dies off and drops off. The scar tissue that surrounds the ex-hemorrhoid holds the nearby veins and tissue into place. There is also infrared coagulation. This uses a high powered infra-red light to create scars around the external hemroids. The scar tissue then holds the veins in place. There is also injection sclerotherapy which uses powerful chemicals to burn the tissue around the hemorrhoids that are too small to band up. This newly formed scarred tissue will hold the various small hemroids in place. When external hemorrhoids are too big a doctor may opt to cut them off and this is known as aexisoinalhaemorrhoidectomy. This is normally the last resort for doctors who are unwilling to perform the other procedures because the recurrent hemroids are too large.

There are also smaller procedures used to treat external hemroids. This may be done during the surgery that removes bigger external hemroids. This is where the doctor will use a circular stapler to lift and secure the hemorrhoids into their normal position and to reduce blood flow. In most cases this will cause them to shrink. A doctor may also use ultrasound to guide them to the hemorrhoids and to the veins and arteries that supply them. The veins or arteries are then tied off so that the hemroids do not swell up and in most cases will die off.

Larger external hemroids may be cut off with a scalpel or laser, where the upmost care will be taken so as to not damage the surrounding nerves and muscles. Often the surgically treated areas may be covered with gauze and dressing. Most are sealed, cauterised and stitched up with stitches that dissolve after approx 1-2 weeks. There is also external hemroids treatment which uses an electric device to cauterise (burn) off the hemorrhoids. They may also be frozen of with cryosurgery.
